The number one factor in getting students prepared for college is the quality of the teachers with whom they interact. The Everest team focuses on providing a high-performing teacher in every classroom, every period, every day. To do this, we attract, develop, and retain incredibly talented educators and develop and respect them as professional leaders.
Everest Focuses On:
- Hiring passionate, committed, “do what it takes” faculty who deeply believe that every student has the ability to go to college
- Maintaining a flat organization where major school decisions are made through faculty consensus
- Giving faculty time and training to design backwards-planned, standards-based curriculum that prepares students for success in AP (advanced placement) courses in their junior and senior years
Everest's Faculty Are:
Faculty at Everest all have master’s degrees in education (most from Stanford, UCLA and UC Berkeley), and all spend 40+ days per school year in intense professional development to ensure that they are continually growing and improving as educators.
The non-teaching faculty consider themselves the school’s Supporting Cast, and their primary role is to ensure that the stars of the school, the teachers, are able to be high-performers, every day.
